Hasina asks Hindus not to consider themselves a minority

Condition of Hindus in Bangladesh is bad! Know what PM Sheikh Hasina said?

by Laxman Chaurasiya

Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the country’s Hindu community not to consider themselves a minority. She said that in Bangladesh all people have equal rights irrespective of their religion. Addressing the Hindu community, she said that you people have the same rights as I have. Sheikh Hasina said this while participating in a virtual program organized by Dhaka’s Dhakeshwari Temple.

She has said that ‘We want people of all religions to live with equal rights. If you are a citizen of the country, then your rights are equal. You have the same rights as I have.’ While wishing the Hindu community on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, PM Sheikh Hasina has said that you people should not consider themselves inferior. She said that if all the people of the country move forward with this confidence, then bad people of any religion will not be able to disturb social harmony. We have to have this faith and move forward with unity.

However, Sheikh Hasina also condemned a section of Hindus. She said that there are some people who want to show that the condition of Hindus in Bangladesh is very bad. Sheikh Hasina said that ‘I want to say one thing with great sadness that whenever any incident happens in the country, some people try to spread in the country and abroad that the condition of Hindus in Bangladesh is bad and they have no rights.’

Hasina said that if any incident happens in the country, then the government takes immediate action on it. Sheikh Hasina said that ‘The government takes action, but even after this it is propagated that Hindus have no rights here. But there is no talk on the action taken by the government.’ Hasina said that it has happened many times when action was taken, Muslims were killed in police firing while protecting the temple. Similar incidents have also happened in this country. She said there are more Durga Puja pandals in Dhaka than in West Bengal or Kolkata. Durga Puja is celebrated on a large scale here.
