Persecution Hindu Nationalists’ False Allegations Against Christians

06/16/2020 India (International Christian Concern) – According to Times Now News, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other Sangh organizations have alleged displeasure over “soft-pedaling” as a response from the Manohar Lal-Khattar-led BJP, under the false narrative of large-scale conversions of Hindu to Christianity in the Mewat region in India.

The Hindu group affirms they did not expect an “indifferent attitude” of the state government as they are supposed to favor them over other minority groups in the area. The VHP delegation met the Chief Minister last month to file cases against Christians in the region. However, the government has not taken any step in investigating the incidents.

Anti-Hindu elements in Mewat feel encouraged by the government’s attitude. No Hindus are left in over 100 villages of that region. We are capable of protecting Hindus’ interests and are not dependent on any government. But we hope the government would fulfill its responsibility,” VHP’s national spokesperson Vinod Bansal told IANS.

However, according to India’s population data, the conspiracy report by the VHP against Christianity does not hold up. Since the first census after independence in 1951, Christians made up to only 2.3% of India’s population. According to the most recent data census, Christians still make up to 2.3% of the population.

The VHP claims a false narrative against Christians in India. The Hindu nationalist groups claim that conversions to Christianity are being done by illegal means and could represent a threat for Hindus in the Mewat region.
